Early Years
At St Peter's, we offer up to 30 places in our Reception class (Belgrave), with weekly access to Grosvenor Forest School. Our curriculum aims to foster a lifelong love of learning by developing children physically, verbally, cognitively, and emotionally, while promoting positive attitudes towards school.
Our curriculum provides the cultural capital needed for success, focusing on effective teaching and learning through play, exploration, active learning, and critical thinking. It celebrates diversity and supports every child, including those with SEND, by breaking barriers and challenging stereotypes.
We offer a balanced mix of child-initiated and adult-led activities, with daily lessons in English, maths, and phonics. Our vibrant indoor and outdoor environments encourage imagination and creativity, and our inclusive approach ensures all children have the support they need to reach their potential.
Reading is central to our curriculum, with the successful Read, Write Inc program ensuring strong reading outcomes. We promote key life skills and values, like service, hope, love, and wisdom, preparing children for future learning and life.
Our impact is seen in children who demonstrate a love of learning, resilience, and the ability to articulate their knowledge confidently.
