Courageous Advocacy
At St Peter’s Eaton Square C of E Primary School, courageous advocacy is at the heart of our Christian Vision. Inspired by the Good Samaritan, we teach children to stand up for justice, challenge inequality, and take meaningful action in their communities.
We encourage our pupils to be upstanders, showing tolerance, respect, and allyship towards others. Having a voice is important, as is listening to different perspectives. Through our curriculum, we explore people and places of interest, breaking barriers, challenging stereotypes, and providing opportunities for all students to develop life skills, cultural capital, and a strong sense of identity.
As a Rights Respecting School (Silver) and an Eco School, our pupils actively care for the environment through our Eco Club, Fair Trade cake sales, and Bags to School. We support The Passage, our local homeless shelter, through our annual carol service at Victoria Station and staff-led sponsored walks.
We also contribute to NSPCC, Macmillan Cancer Support, Trussell Trust Food Bank, and Kids for Kids, supporting families in need. Our pupils take part in national fundraising events such as Children in Need, Red Nose Day, and other charity initiatives throughout the year, learning the value of generosity and service.
By embedding advocacy in our daily practice, we empower children to lead with empathy, challenge injustice, and create positive change in their communities and beyond.
By embedding advocacy into daily school life, we empower children to challenge injustice, take action, and create lasting change in their communities and beyond. Here are some of the books which you may find around our school which are part of our favourite 5 reading spines.
