Bullying Awareness and Anti-Bullying

Anti-Bullying Week is a great initiative, and incorporating dress-up days like Odd Socks Day is an excellent way for children to celebrate their individuality and uniqueness. Wearing odd socks symbolizes that everyone is different and that those differences should be embraced. 

At St. Peter's, our children are well-informed about the impact of bullying and the vital role of being upstanders. They have a comprehensive understanding of the different types of bullying, including verbal, racial, social, physical, and cyberbullying. To further solidify this knowledge, each class took the initiative to create and present whole-school assemblies focusing on each type of bullying, fostering a community of awareness and support.

 Using freeze frames, skits, presentations, and songs, the children effectively communicated and shared their understanding of the different types of bullying. Each creative medium allowed them to express the impact of verbal, racial, social, physical, and cyberbullying, helping to reinforce these important lessons throughout the school community.
