Forest school

At St Peter's, all children, from Reception to KS2, benefit from our unique partnership with Belgrave Forest School, located practically on our doorstep.

This wonderful outdoor learning environment provides a natural space for every child to explore, learn, and grow beyond the classroom walls.

Weekly sessions for our Reception and KS1 children foster physical development through active play and navigating outdoor challenges, while also enhancing mental wellbeing. The forest setting offers a peaceful retreat where children can connect with nature, manage stress, and build emotional resilience.

All year groups have the opportunity to utilise this resource to extend their learning across the curriculum. For example, in science, children investigate minibeasts, study plant life, and observe seasonal changes in a real-world context. These experiences deepen their understanding, ignite curiosity, and encourage hands-on exploration.

Our collaboration with Grosvenor Forest School nurtures confident, curious learners who enjoy the therapeutic benefits of nature while developing essential skills like teamwork, problem-solving, and resilience.
